Shillong, Feb 6: Braveheart CC and Mawten CC won their respective pre-quarterfinal matches of the 5th Mawten T20 Cricket Tournament 2025 yesterday by whopping great margins.

Braveheart defeated Mawranglang YSC by 69 runs, while Mawten romped to a 10-wicket victory over Moodymmai CC.

In the first match, Braveheart batted first and scored a competitive 169/6 in 18 overs. Marken B Kharkongor and Bandhan Dkhar were the top scorers with 44 and 29 runs respectively and Theo Kharwaniang of Mawranglang bagged two wickets.

In reply, Mawranglang were bowled out for exactly 100 runs in 16.2 overs. Erick M Lyngdoh was the star performer for Braveheart CC, taking five wickets.

Later, Moodymmai batted first and were restricted to just 84/5 in 20 overs, with Rijed Lyntan top-scoring with 22. Mawten SC’s bowlers Anish Charak and Adarsh Joshi bagged a brace of wickets each to restrict Moodymmai innings.

In reply, Mawten’s Arpit Bhatewara and Mrinal Das dominated the chase, scoring 50 and 34 runs and comfortably achieved the target of 84 runs in just 5.2 overs, winning the match by 10 wickets. Arpit was adjudged the Player of the Match for his outstanding performance with the bat.
