5th Mawten T20 Cricket Tourney: Nongstoin Utd & Royal Challengers Mawsynram move to semis

Shillong, Feb 8: Nongstoin United CC and Royal Challengers Mawsynram CC won their respective quarterfinal matches of the 5th Mawten T20 Cricket Tournament 2025 yesterday.

Nongstoin Utd defeated Laitkor CC by eight wickets, while Royal Challengers Mawsynram were seven-wicket winners over Chesf CC.

Laitkor’s decision to bat first didn’t pay off as they were bowled out for 82 in 18 overs, though Andy Kharkongor had personal success with his innings of 36 runs. Dapbiang Marwein and Kyntonboklang Sanglyne took three wickets each.

In reply, Nongstoin United had no difficulties at all, knocking off the required runs in 9.2 overs, though they did lose two batters in the process. Pynsuk Nongsiej was the top scorer with 40. Kyntonboklang was named Player of the Match.

Later, Chesf batted first and were dismissed for a similar score of 85 in 16.3 overs. Pankaj Mandal racked up 31, while Shondorlang Shangpliang and Rohit Rai bagged three and two wickets respectively for the Mawsynram team.

Chasing, Royal Challengers Mawsynram got to 86/3 in just 11 overs. Raj Biswa struck 50 and was named Player of the Match.
