Shillong, Mar 7: Shillong Lajong FC will have an uphill task as they face I-League 2024-25 title challengers Churchill Brothers in Goa today. Kick-off will be at 4:30PM.

This will be Lajong’s fourth consecutive away match and follows on from a thrilling 4-3 win against Gokulam Kerala four days ago.

In the pre-match press conference held yesterday, Lajong coach, Jose Carlos Rodriguez Hevia said that Churchill Brothers will be a different challenge as they are at the top of the points table.

Indeed, Churchill were leading in the standings until yesterday when Inter Kashi took first place by beating Namdhari FC. However, the Goans can retake that position by beating SLFC.

Nonetheless, the coach said he is optimistic for the encounter and is confident his boys will put in a good fight.

Lajong, who are in a fight for fourth place with Namdhari as both have 26 points at the moment, met Churchill Brothers at the very start of the season where SLFC bagged a point in a hard-fought draw.
