Shillong, Mar 7: NFU defeated United XI by 36 runs in their Group B match of the Shillong Cricket League Super Division 2024-25 here yesterday.
NFU won the toss and chose to bat first, posting 249/7 in 45 overs, with Akash leading the way with 101 runs from just 64 balls. He was ably supported by Kevin Christopher, who hit 68 from 97. Navin (2/35 in 9 overs) and Indranil (2/68 in 9) were United XI’s most successful bowlers.
In reply, United XI ended their innings on 213/9. Ganesh scored 68 from 79 deliveries, while Indranil contributed 39 from 55. Purajit bagged 3/31 in 7 overs, while Hasin returned figures of 2/40 in 7.
Kevin (pictured left), who took two wickets in addition to his half-century, was declared Player of the Match.
Today’s match is between Sputnik Spartan CC and Nongmensong CC in Group A.
