Shillong, Mar 11: Sputnik CC defeated Raj Bhavan by six wickets and with nearly 28 overs to spare in their Group B match of the Shillong Cricket League Super Division 2024-25 here today.
Sputnik won the toss and chose to field first. Raj Bhavan were unable to make much headway on an overcast day and were bundled out for just 121 in 30.2 overs, with Avinav Choudhury bagging 5/18 in 9 overs. Ankit Kumar’s run-a-ball 32 was the top score.
In reply, Sputnik needed just 17.3 of their allocation of 45 overs to chase down the target, though they did lose four wickets in the process. Swarajeet Das struck 57 from 45 balls as Sputnik cruised to victory.
Avinav (pictured left) was declared Player of the Match.
The next match will take place on 14th March between Sporting CC and Langsning CC in Group A.
