Shillong, Apr 25: The Overall Champions title of the West Jaintia District Level Inter-School Athletic Meet 2025 once again went to North Liberty Higher Secondary School.
The meet was conducted at the U Kiang Nangbah Stadium in Jowai from 23rd to 25th April and was organised by the District Sports Office in collaboration with the West Jaintia District Sports Association. Jowai MLA Wailadmiki Shylla was the chief guest at the closing ceremony.
North Liberty took home a total of 26 gold, 16 silver and 12 bronze (54 medals overall).
The school won 9 gold, 7 silver and 8 bronze to win the overall boys’ championship, followed by Govt Boys HSS in second (3G, 7S, 3B).
In the girls’ division North Liberty bagged 17 gold, 9 silver and 3 bronze ahead of St Dominic HSS (1G, 3S, 1B).
The Best Disciplined Team award went to Little Flower HSS of Ummulong.
Individual awards were also distributed at the closing ceremony.
In the U-14 category these went to Resource Wellson Sayoo (boys) of HK Singh Secondary School and Wanpyntngen Lytep (girls) of St Mary Mazzarrello HSS.
In the U-16 category Acharan Talang (boys) of Govt Boys HSS was Best Athlete along with Saphika Pyrtuh (girls) of North Liberty.
In the U-18 category Yearmanwill Rymbai (boys) of Kiang Nangbah HSS and Deigracia Dan (girls) of North Liberty were the Best Athletes.
