Shillong, Jun 19: There were big victories for Mawlynrei and Mawnianglah in the Shillong Sports Association’s U-20 Fourth Division 2025 at the SSA Stadium at First Ground here today.
Mawlynrei first took down Lawei 5-2 in Group F, while Mawnianglah pummelled Krang 6-1 in Group E at the end of the day. The second match saw Lumpyngngad (pictured celebrating their goal) pip Riatsamthiah 1-0 in Group F.
Kerry J Marboh (7′) scored early in the 80-minute match to open Mawlynrei’s account, while his team mates Wanborrupa Rynjah (27′), Elvinson Kharsohnoh (58′) and Ferdinand Pyngrope (73′) added one each later. There was also a 34th minute own goal by a Lawei player. Both of Lawei’s goals were by Shemphang Synnah (15′, 76′).
Lumpyngngad’s Ebenezer Kharhari struck the lone goal in the 20th minute for the only goal of the second match, which was followed by seven goals in the third and last match.
A brace was scored by each of three Mawnianglah players – Ericson Kharkongor (3′, 19′), Melvinson Marbaniang (40′, 56′) and Stevenson Nongneng (65′, 76′) – while Krang’s only strike was by Jerkupar Dohtdong (44′). Ericson’s first goal is the fastest of the season so far.
