SSA U-20 4th Div 2025: Mawnianglah, New Challenger & Riatsamthiah win

Shillong, Jun 27: Bantyngshain Nongsteng scored a hat-trick for Mawnianglah in their 3-0 victory over Iateilang of Lamlyer in Group E of the Shillong Sports Association’s U-20 Fourth Division 2025 at the SSA Stadium at First Ground here today.

The other results saw New Challenger breeze to a 5-0 triumph against Krang (also in Group E), while Riatsamthiah pipped Lawei of Smit 2-1 in Group F.

Bantyngshain struck in the 4th, 44th and 55th minutes for what is only the second treble scored in the Fourth Division this year.

The morning fixture saw Pynskhem Khongdup (4′, 63′) score for Riatsamthiah against Lawei. Riatsamthiah had lost both of their previous matches and hadn’t even scored before today. Pynskhem’s first goal was the 100th of the season and came in the 31st match of the league. Pynbatskhem Marbaniang (56′) equalised for Lawei following a defensive lapse but his team couldn’t avoid conceding again, with Pynskhem providing the winner.

Later, New Challenger, who had also lost their first two outings, ran away with the game against Krang. Victor Langte (19′) struck first but he had to be substituted after being on the receiving end of a studs-up challenge by a Krang player; that infraction saw the latter sent off with a direct red card and Krang had to play the rest of the game with 10 men.

Jernardo Kharhujon (40+3) doubled the lead on the cusp of the half time whistle and Wanbok Syiemsad (51’P) converted a penalty in the early part of the second half. Two goals in two minutes then saw New Challenger emerge as comprehensive winners, with Teilang Shylla (70′) and Bisholding Lawai (72′) the providers.
