Shillong, Jul 14: The Shillong Sports Association’s Third Division 2025 got underway today, with Sanmer playing out a 1-1 draw against Lawmali Pyllun in Group A at the SSA Stadium at First Ground, Polo, here.
Sanmer dominated proceedings but could only find the back of the net once, through Kamkynti Pahsyntiew (12′). Jonathan Mawa received a long ball and ran up the left flank before darting into the box. He then fed the ball to Kamkynti, who deftly tapped it in.
Chances were few and far between for Lawmali Pyllun but they made their best one count as captain Derick Syiemlieh got to a corner kick and bundled the ball over the line. Whether intentional or not – the ball having come off his left knee – it was effective.
Sanmer will rue not converting their other chances and the game ended all square at 1-1.
