Ronney Kharbudon joins FC Goa from Lajong; Reds split with Brazilian quartet

Shillong, Jul 17: Ronney W Kharbudon has joined FC Goa, Shillong Lajong FC announced in a farewell post on social media yesterday.

The Reds also informed that the Brazilian quartet of Renan Paulino de Souza, Marcos Rudwere Genar Silva, Daniel Goncalves and Douglas Tardin have left the club. In addition, Lajong also said farewell to Kynsailang Khongsit, who has joined Rajasthan United FC, as TSR had reported in May.

Ronney appeared in 38 I-League matches for Lajong over two seasons and the 22-year-old defender scored three times.

The four Brazilians were a constant over the last two years, joining SLFC for their comeback to the I-League in 2023-24 before being retained for 2024-25. Lajong had three other foreigners come and go over the course of the two seasons but the popular Brazilian Four remained throughout.

Lajong are going through big personnel changes in the run-up to 2025-26, which begins with the Durand Cup this month. Other than the six players mentioned here, the club also parted ways with coach Jose Carlos Rodriguez Hevia.
