Shillong, Jul 17: Madan SCC had a huge win in Group C of the Shillong Sports Association’s Third Division 2025, winning 5-2 at the SSA Stadium at First Ground, Polo, here today.
Iatyllilang beat Kharang 2-0, also in Group C, while Umiew Maw U Sam edged Lamlynti 1-0 in Group D.
There was a brace each for Wankmen Lyngdoh (11′, 39′) and Koijam Privoverta Singh (43′, 78′) as Madan SCC made light work of Gorkha Association. Wankmen’s first goal was a directly taken corner kick that curled into the danger area and bounced into the back of the net without anyone else getting a touch on it. The other goal for Madan SCC was via Rodrigo Sympli (32′), who capitalised on a defensive error.
Gorkha Association did find the back of the net twice – first through a Chandan Mizar (36′) header off a corner kick and then through a 50th minute penalty converted by Yaash Kanwar.
Iatyllilang’s Iatyllibor Mynsong (47′, 56′) produced both goals in his side’s 2-0 win over Kharang, scoring both in less than 10 minutes of each other in the second half.
The last fixture of the day had just the one goal and it was delivered by Eller Chester Alya in the 64th minute for Umiew Maw U Sam.
There will be just one match tomorrow, in the morning, as the afternoon will be given over to second round matches of the U-20 Fourth Division 2025.
