Shillong, Sep 7: Mylliem Lum and Tynring won their respective matches in the Shillong Sports Association’s Second Division 2025 at the SSA Stadium at First Ground, Polo, here yesterday.

Mylliem Lum trounced Umpling 4-0 in Group A, while Tynring picked up their first win by beating Umphrup 3-2 in Group C.
All four of Mylliem Lum’s goals came in a space of less than 20 minutes in the second half. Sbinstar Jana (64′) struck first before Arbunsing Warjri added a brace (70′, 80′) and Lestarwell Khyriem (83′) completed the rout.
Mylliem Lum are now back at the top of the standings based on a healthier goal difference compared to Mawpat. These two sides will meet on Wednesday. Meanwhile, this was Umpling’s last match of the season. They are currently in fourth place but have to watch out for the last group game between Jongksha and Lumshyiap on Friday to see where they will end up in the standings.
In Group C, Jovinal Mylliempdah (30′) and Bakmenkordor Mylliem (35′) gave Tynring a two-goal cushion in the first half but Umphrup found the back of the net twice via Shariwell Lyngdoh (66′, 75′). Tynring also scored another thanks to Hasken Roy Kharsati and they walked away with victory and also moved up one spot to fifth. Umphrup, as high as third just a few days ago, have now dropped to the bottom of the table with one round to play.
Group C is unusual in that the top three teams put together have a worse goal difference than the bottom three.
Monday’s fixture:
Group B – Laitkyrhong vs Nongmensong, 1:30PM, SSA Stadium
