Shillong, Sep 16: Meghalaya won their first match of the U-17 boys’ category of the Subroto Cup 2025 in New Delhi this morning against Chhattisgarh 2-0.
Due to “technical issues” matches on the opening day had to be changed and Meghalaya’s game was held at 6:30AM.
Iaisanlang Dohling (42′) and Erickson Shylla (64′) scored in the second half of the 70-minute Pool H match.
Meghalaya are being represented at the tournament by North Liberty Higher Secondary School of West Jaintia Hills, who won the state title in July.
Meghalaya will play Kerala tomorrow at 6:30AM and then Delhi on Thursday. Only one team from each pool will go to the quarterfinals.
Meghalaya were runners-up last year through Mynken Christian Higher Secondary School of Ri-Bhoi.
