Shillong, Oct 2: Nongthymmai defeated Lawsohtun 2-0 in the Shillong Sports Association’s First Division 2025 at the SSA Stadium at First Ground, Polo, here yesterday.
Jefferson Nongphlang (34′, 64′) scored a goal in each half in Nongthymmai’s first match back in the First Division after being relegated from the Shillong Premier League at the end of the 2024 season.
The first goal went in off the crossbar, while the second saw Jefferson intercept a poor pass between two Lawsohtun players before scoring.
No match is scheduled for today. Tomorrow Nongkrem will take on Ryntih at 1:30PM.
Nongkrem were runners-up in the Second Division 2024, which saw them promoted to the First Division this year. Ryntih, like Nongthymmai, fell out of the SPL after a poor season last year.
