Shillong, Oct 6: Mawlum Tyrsad SC’s Ibashembha Khongsit scored four goals as her club won 8-0 against Mawsawrit SC in Group B of the Meghalaya Women’s State League 2025 on Saturday.
The other two matches both ended 2-1, with victory for Mawten SC and Pay For Right FA against Young SSCC and Na Rympei FA respectively.
Ibashembha (4′, 59′, 75′, 83′), Irilang Khongsit (6′, 29′) and Naisha Nongrum (9′, 10′) were the scorers in the Tyrsad Area Sports Association derby game at Mawlum Tyrsad Ground.
In the early kick-off, Group A’s Na Rympei FA and Pay For Right FA clashed in what was the closest match in the MWSL 2025. Na Rympei are representing the Ri-Bhoi District Sports Association, while PFR are from the Shillong Sports Association.
After a goalless first half at the SSA Stadium in Shillong, PFR’s Nisilia Majaw (75′, 77′) struck twice before Na Rympei’s Cynthia Mylliem Umlong (90’+3) clawed a goal back in stoppage time. The game ended 2-1, with PFR celebrating a second consecutive win and Na Rympei ruing a second straight defeat.
Later, the game between Young SSCC and Mawten SC in Group B followed a similar pattern, with Mawten (of the Mawkyrwat DSA) taking a two-goal lead through Larihun Sohthiang (58′) and Bankyntiew Ryntathiang (67′) before Titful Sohbar (83′) pulled one back for Young SSCC of the Pyndengumiong DSA.
