Shillong, Oct 21: Nongkrem almost did enough for a point but Mawtawar struck a winner in stoppage time to take their Shillong Sports Association First Division 2025 match 4-3 at the SSA Stadium at First Ground, Polo, here today.
Mawtawar went two goals up via Fredrick Lyngdoh (7’) and Khrawkupar Nongbri (26’) but Nongkrem came back through Robertstar Malngiang (45’+1) and Balajied Lyngwa (46’).
Mawtawar again went in front thanks to Nikrak Sangma (51’) but Balajied made it 3-3 in the 80th minute.
The winner was provided by Alijah Kharumlong (90’+1) in stoppage time to give Mawtawar 3 points from a tough fight.
