Shillong, Nov 3: Nongkseh were made to work hard for the first time in the Shillong Sports Association’s First Division 2025 but came through 1-0 against Nongthymmai at the SSA Stadium at First Ground, Polo, here today.
The second match of the day saw Mawtawar beat Pohkseh 2-1.
The victory was Nongkseh’s seventh in a row and they have also yet to concede a goal. It was Nongthymmai’s first defeat. The lone goal of the game was scored by Mebankhraw Wahlang in the 83rd minute.
Later, Mawtawar scored through Nikrak Sangma (12′) and Aldo Mac Nongneng (73′) on either side of Wanlambha Kharpran’s 29th minute goal for Pohkseh.
Victory moved Mawtawar above Nongthymmai in the standings but the latter have two games in hand, so Mawtawar know they may not be able to hold on to that place.
