Shillong, Nov 10: The 4th Shortimai Knockout Football Tournament, organised by Smit SC, began today with Massar 8 Bro’s FC defeating Laitkyrhong 1-0.
The lone goal was scored in the 65th minute by Lewanki Syntem.
There are 10 teams in the first round – Laitkyrhong (now eliminated), Massar 8 Bro’s, Laitkor, Shillong Police, Nangkiew Irat, Mawryngkneng, Nongkseh, Mylliem Lum, Meghalaya Police and Smit.
The five winners from here will progress to the quarterfinals where three teams have received direct entry – Ehrngiew, Jaguars and Mawlai Impact.
The next match will take place on 21st November between Laitkor and Shillong Police at 2PM.
