Shillong, Nov 20: Two Meghalayan judokas won medals at the Sub-Junior National Judo Championship 2025-26 in Hyderabad, the Meghalaya Judo Association informed yesterday.
The medallists were Adric L Nonglait of East Khasi Hills, who bagged a silver in the -66kg category, and Larika Kharkhylliang of Eastern West Khasi Hills, who took bronze in the -48kg category.
The event, organised by the Judo Federation of India, began on 16th November. Due to school examinations, only eight judokas from the state were able to participate this year.
The Meghalaya contingent was led by coach/manager Jonathan Lalrinsanga.
Judokas’ selection was based on their performance at last month’s Meghalaya State Judo Championship.
The MJA extended congratulations to both medallists and wishes them continued success in future competitions. It also thanked the coaches, training staff and family for their support.
