Shillong, Nov 20: Lawsohtun picked up a win in their last match of Shillong Sports Association’s First Division 2025 season, with Khlainbor Sohtun scoring a hat-trick in a 3-1 result against Nongkrem today.
Khlainbor scored in the 10th, 58th and 76th minutes at the SSA Stadium at First Ground, Polo, here.
Nongkrem’s lone goal was through Balajied Lyngwa (30′).
The win was consolation only as Lawsohtun will still be relegated to next season’s Second Division as one of the two bottom-most teams. However, they did at least manage to finish in ninth position, consigning Nongrah to last place.
There is just one more match to go in the First Division and it will decide the championship. Table toppers Nongkseh will face second-placed Meghalaya Police at 4:15PM on Saturday. MLP need to win, while Nongkseh just need a draw to take the title. The result will also have a bearing on the upcoming SSA Champions Cup, as the First Division champions (whoever that will be) have been slotted in Group B, with the runners-up in Group A.
