Shillong, Nov 21: Following the conclusion of the Ranji Trophy 2025-26, Meghalaya will soon be in action in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025-26, making the switch from four-day cricket to the thrills of T20.
The Meghalaya Cricket Association today announced its squad for the tournament – the plate group’s matches will run from 26th November to 6th December and be held at various venues in Pune.
Meghalaya will field an all-domiciled squad, with no guest players included. Selection was two-fold – Ranji Trophy players were assessed on their performance in that tournament, while those not in the first-class team attended a preparatory camp in Jagiroad, Assam.
Meghalaya will play their first match against Sikkim on 26th November. The other teams in the plate group are Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur and Nagaland.
The team will depart for Pune on 23rd November. Players who are currently in Jagiroad for the preparatory camp should report to Guwahati Airport directly on that day. Players and support staff from Khasi-Jaintia Hills will report at Polo Ground in Shillong on 23 November before departure to Guwahati Airport.
