Shillong, Nov 23: Laitkor and Nangkiew Irat won their respective matches in the 4th Shortimai Knockout Football Tournament in recent days.
On Friday, Laitkor defeated Shillong Police 4-2 on penalties after regulation time ended 1-1. Honour Lucky Nongbri (40′) had put the police into the lead before Felixdarren Suting (74′) equalised for Laitkor to take the game into a tiebreaker.
Then, on Saturday, Nangkiew Irat defeated Mawryngkneng 2-0 with goals from Wallamsuk Nongkhlaw (35′) and Remark Kharmalki (70′).
The next match will be on 29th November between Teer Counter FC and Mylliem Lum at 2PM. The interestingly-named Teer Counter FC take the place of Nongkseh, who have withdrawn from the tournament, which is unsurprising given that they will be very busy in the SSA Champions Cup at the same time.
