Shillong, Dec 24: Mawlai Impact moved into the semifinals of the 4th Shortimai Knockout Football Tournament yesterday after beating Smit SC 5-4 in the third quarterfinal in Smit yesterday.
Regulation time had ended 1-1 after Mawlai Impact took the lead in the 60th minute and Smit equalised 10 minutes later.
The Player of the Match was Mawlai Impact’s Maxderidoff Wahlang (pictured left). It was he who scored his team’s 60th minute goal. The award was presented by the President of the Village Defence Party, Jamshaphrang Kharbyngar.
The fourth and last quarterfinal will be between Mylliem Lum SC and Massar 8 Bro’s FC on 27th December at 2PM.
