Shillong, Jan 8: Day four of the Shillong Sports Association’s Women’s Football League 2025 saw Laitkor enjoy a dominant 9-0 win against Mawshbuit in Group A at the SSA Stadium at First Ground, Polo, here today.
Meanwhile, Lawei edged Mawkasiang 1-0 in Group B and New Challenger beat Nongrim Hills 3-0 in Group C.
Defending champions Laitkor scored through Cynthia Mylliem Umlong (22′), Rympei B Syiemlieh (24′, 48′), Ibakordor Wahlang (27′, 33′), Tracy Rympei (30′, 43′), Saphipaia Lyngdoh (41′) and Daaijingsuk Basaiawmoit (45′). Laitkor now have 6 points from two games having beaten Nongthymmai on the opening day and are top of the group. Mawshbuit are at the bottom with two defeats – they lost to Umrynjah on Tuesday.
Both Mawkasiang and Lawei lost their opening fixtures but today Lawei bagged victory thanks to a 69th minute goal from Lavinia Lyngkhoi.
Meanwhile, in the first match of the day, New Challenger’s Pynibha Rangthaluh (15′, 43′) scored a brace and Happily Lyngdoh (51′) one goal in their team’s second win of the season. New Challenger had won against Kharang two days ago, while Nongrim Hills had been beaten by Rangdajied United on Monday.
