Shillong, Feb 20: Laitkynsew Mission Club and Mawphlang CC won their respective matches in the East Khasi Hills Cricket Association’s 5th District League T20 Cricket Tournament 2026 at Saitsohpen, Sohra, yesterday.
Laitkynsew Mission defeated Seng Samla Mawlong Mawriang by 28 runs in Group C, while Mawphlang were six-wicket winners against Royal Rangers CC in Group D.
Laitkynsew won the toss and batted first, posting 182/8 in 20 overs. Mebanrikupar Malngiang had a 200-plus strike rate in his blistering innings of 73 from 35 balls, while Stevintinison Lynrah took 3/20 in 4 overs for SS Mawlong Mawriang.
In the chase, SS Mawlong Mawriang were dismissed for 154 in 17.5 overs. Rahul Bhimsubro’s 64 from 32 balls was the top score, while Mebanrikupar turned in a good performance with the ball to take 3/23 in 3.5 overs and he was declared Player of the Match.
Later, Royal Rangers batted first after winning the toss but were restricted to 132/6 in 20 overs. Lalaplad Tariang’s 31 from 21 deliveries was the top score, while Janai Dohtdong bagged 2/18 in 4 overs.
Mawphlang chased down the target with a full 3 overs to spare thanks to Janai’s 63 from 53 balls. Balabianglang Buhphang (4/29 in 4 overs) claimed all four wickets to fall in the second innings. Janai was named Player of the Match.
