Shillong, Feb 21: Rangkynsai CC gave New Friends Union and almighty walloping with a 318-run victory in Group B of the Shillong Cricket League Super Division 2026, organised by the Shillong Cricket Association, in Polo today.
Batting first after winning the toss, last year’s runners-up Rangkynsai went at nearly 10 an over to post 448/7 in 45 overs. They were then able to bowl out NFU for 130 in 37.4 overs.
Joydeepan Deb struck 150 from 104 deliveries, while Shavian Blah made 121 from 78 in Rangkynsai’s phenomenal total. No NFU bowler came away unscathed, though Bharat Gurung (3/68 in 9 overs) returned reasonable figures given the onslaught.
In the chase, Kevin Christopher put up significant resistance to make 78 from 101 balls but there were few other contributions and NFU (bottom in the group) were dismissed well short of the mark. In Rangkynsai’s bowling department Adarsh Joshi came away with 4/14 in 5 overs, while Ram Gurung bagged 3/25 in 6.
Joydeepan was named Player of the Match.
