Shillong, Feb 26: Sputnik Spartan defeated Lok Bhavan by 23 runs in Group B of the Shillong Cricket League Super Division 2026, organised by the Shillong Cricket Association, in Polo today.
In a match reduced to 25 overs a side due to a wet outfield, Sputnik Spartan were bowled out for 152 in 24.2 overs after Lok Bhavan won the toss and opted to field first.
Jitumoni Kalita top-scored with 34 in 25 balls, while Uttam Chanda made a run-a-ball 29. Andrew Ropmay bagged 3/16 in 3 overs, while Bikash Singha took 3/29 in 5 overs.
In response, Lok Bhavan were restricted to 129/9 in 25 overs. Wan Mawroh was there at the end unbeaten on 30 from 20 balls, while Asif Khan contributed 24 from 28. Jitomoni claimed 2/12 in 5 overs and Kishley 2/15 in 4 to give Sputnik Spartan the win.
Jitumoni was named Player of the Match.
Yesterday’s Group B match between Sporting CC and New Friends Union was abandoned due to rain.
