Shillong, Mar 2: Reigning champions Cricket Lovers and Seng Samla Mawlong Mawriang won their respective matches in the East Khasi Hills Cricket Association’s 5th District League T20 Cricket Tournament 2026 at Saitsohpen, Sohra, today.
SS Mawlong Mawriang beat Saitsohpen Veterans by 60 runs in Group C while Cricket Lovers triumphed by 130 runs over Pomshutia CC in Group A.
Both sides batting first made in excess of 200 runs each.
Mawlong Mawriang won the toss and batted first, posting a whopping 221/2 in their allotted 20 overs. Kitdor H Majaw was in striking distance of a century but had to settle for 95 from 59 deliveries.
In reply, Saitsohpen Veterans went at 8 an over but their 161/8 in 20 overs was well short of the target. Clement Khongsngi top-scored with 46 from 22 balls, while Rahul Bhimsubro took 2/26 in 4 overs. Kitdor was named Player of the Match.
Later, Cricket Lovers also opted to bat first on winning the toss and made 202/5 in 20 overs. Heiyoomiki Ryngkhlem batted aggressively for his 64 from 30 balls, while Shembhalang Pyngrope claimed 2/38 in 4 overs.
In reply Pomshutia were dismissed for only 72 in 13.4 overs, with Mewankitbok Kharpuri (3/20 in 4 overs) and Heiyoomiki (2/5 in 1) doing most of the damage. Pynbianglang Pyngrope’s 22 from 28 balls was the high score. Heiyoomiki picked up the Player of the Match award.
