Shillong, Mar 4: Laitkynsew Mission and Cricket Smit won their respective matches in the East Khasi Hills Cricket Association’s 5th District League T20 Cricket Tournament 2026 at Saitsohpen, Sohra, today.
Laitkynsew Mission beat Saitsohpen Veterans by six wickets in Group C, while Cricket Smit were two-wicket winners against Pomshutia CC in Group A.
Saitsohpen Veterans won the toss and chose to bat first but were dismissed for a mere 117 in 19.5 overs. Keithwill Lyngdoh was the most successful with the bat, scoring 45 from 36 deliveries. Jespar Malngiang had just 2 overs with the ball but turned in an eye-catching performance with figures of 4/6.
The target was not challenging enough for Laitkynsew Mission and they won in 13.4 overs for the loss of four wickets. Moulding Kharpuri top-scored with 30 from 29 balls and Shngain Kynta bagged 2/29 in 4 overs. Jespar was named Player of the Match.
Later, in a low-scoring game, Pomshutia won the toss and elected to bat but were all out for 80 in 19.5 overs. Pynbianglang Pyngrope’s 25 from 24 balls was the high score, while Syntem Kamwamut Nongneng took 3/13 in 4 overs.
Despite being a small target, Cricket Smit lost eight wickets but crossed the finish line in 16.4 overs. Raymond Thabah made 19 from 26 and Donkupar Syiemlieh matched Syntem’s figures from the first innings – 3/13 in 4 overs. It was Syntem, however, who was adjudged Player of the Match.
