Shillong, Mar 5: Rahul Shimsubro cracked a century and team mate Bankit Nongtraw claimed a hat-trick in a five-wicket haul for Seng Samla Mawlong Mawriang as they defeated Sohra Police Combine by 78 runs in Group C of the East Khasi Hills Cricket Association’s 5th District League T20 Cricket Tournament 2026 at Saitsohpen, Sohra, today.
The other game saw Friends United CC beat Marbisu CC by 52 runs in Group B.
Mawlong Mawriang won the toss and chose to bat first. Rahul’s blistering 104 from 48 balls helped the team to 194/7 in 20 overs. Adrian Nongbri (3/26 in 3 overs) was the most successful bowler for Sohra Police.
Bankit then took a hat-trick and finished with figures of 5/30 in 3 overs as Sohra Police were all out for 116 in 16.5 overs. AE Marbaniang top-scored with 41 from 26 balls. Rahul was named Player of the Match.
Later, Friends United also won the toss and opted to bat first. They put on 188/7 in their 20 overs, with Ernestin Kyntiewbor Swer pummelling 89 from 36, while Ramesh Rai claimed 3/30 in 4 overs.
In response, Marbisu were dismissed for 136 in 19.4 overs. Rohan Rai hit 39 from 24 balls while Precious Nongrud bagged 3/12 in 4 overs. Ernestin was adjudged Player of the Match.
