Shillong, Mar 10: Langsning were narrow six-run victors against Winds CC in Group D of the 1st Late PA Sangma Memorial T20 Tournament here today.
The other match of the day, also in Group D, saw Donkin CC trounce Metallica Rising CC by 93 runs.
Langsning won the toss and batted first. They were able to post 147/9 in 20 overs, courtesy Bishal Roy’s 67 from 36 balls. Pritam Singh claimed 4/20 in 4 overs and Lokesh Turaha 3/34 in 4.
Winds CC came close but ultimately fell short of the target, ending on 141/8 in 20 overs. Aditya Mahala top-scored with 53 from 42 deliveries while Nishanta Chakraborty returned the best figures of 3/20 in 3 overs. Bishal was declared Player of the Match.
Meanwhile, Donkin amassed 210/4 in a reduced 17 overs after winning the toss and choosing to bat first. Rahul Shah was unstoppable in his innings of 110 from 30 balls, while Abid Khan (2/26 in 4 overs) was the bowler who came away most unscathed.
Metallica Rising were then restricted to 117/8 in 17 overs – Binay Rai (31 from 26 balls) and Abid (30 from 16) provided the most runs, while Heimon Lyngdoh took 3/21 in 4 overs. Rahul, who also bagged 2/24 with the ball, was named Player of the Match.
