Shillong, Mar 13: The second edition of the BIG Futsal Fest, an inter-office tournament, will be held next week at the Thrive Sports Arena in Langkyrding here.
Organised by BIG FM, India’s largest single brand radio network, the tournament is supported by Meghalaya’s Department of Sports & Youth Affairs.
Designed as a sporting platform for the city’s professional community, the event will bring together working professionals from government and corporate organisations, encouraging participation, teamwork and a spirit of healthy competition beyond the workplace.
Over five days, 16 teams from across Shillong will compete against each other for the title of inter-office futsal champions.
The first edition took place in September 2024 and the Meghalaya AG Office team were the winners.
“At BIG FM, we believe in creating platforms that encourage community engagement and shared experiences,” the station’s CEO, Ashit Kukian, was quoted as saying in a press release. “BIG Futsal Fest reflects this commitment by bringing together professionals through sport. We are encouraged by the response to the first edition and look forward to hosting another competitive and spirited tournament in Shillong.”
