Big Futsal Fest 2026 quarterfinalists decided

Shillong, Mar 18: Day 2 of Big FM’s Big Futsal Fest at the Thrive Sports Arena in Langkyrding opened with a remarkable display of resilience when the Department of Local Fund Audit mounted a stunning comeback after trailing by three goals, clawing their way back into the contest against My Meg Planning.

Holding their composure, they then edged past their opponents with a 2–1 victory in the shootout. However, even this gripping opener was soon eclipsed in sheer drama by the enthralling contest between MIMHANS and Water Resources.

What unfolded was a pulsating encounter that saw both sides locked at 4–4 at the end of normal time. The ensuing shootout elevated the tension to extraordinary heights – stretching into what felt like an endless exchange of penalty kicks. It ultimately took seven players from each side before a result could be produced, with Water Resources finally prevailing 3–2.

In contrast, the remaining two fixtures unfolded as emphatically one-sided affairs, echoing the dominant scorelines of the opening day. Meghalaya Legislative Assembly FT delivered a commanding performance to overwhelm ITI with an 8–0 victory, while Shillong Police FT exhibited equal authority, cruising past PHE by a remarkable 13–4 margin.

With the group stage concluded, the road to the trophy is now set. The top performers from the last 48 hours have secured their place in the quarterfinals, promising a “Super Friday” of knockout futsal.

Quarterfinal fixtures:
1. S10 Healthcare vs Banalari Motors
2. Tourism FT vs Meghalaya Secretariat Home Guards
3. Department of Local Fund Audit vs Meghalaya Legislative Assembly
4. Water Resources vs Shillong Police FT
