Shillong, Mar 19: Big FM’s Big Futsal Fest 2026 moved into its high stakes quarterfinal stage on Thursday.
Shillong Police FT have steadily emerged as the favourites for the tournament, their performances marked by composure and discipline. However, today’s contest against Water Resources served as a stern examination of their credentials, with the latter pushing them all the way. Despite being run close, Shillong Police held their nerve when it mattered most and won 5-2.
In the closest match of the day, S10 Healthcare edged Banalari Motors 4-3. At the other end of the spectrum, Meghalaya Legislative Assembly defeated Department of Local Fund Audit 8-0. The other game of the day saw Meghalaya Secretariat Home Guards get past Tourism FT 6-3.
In the semifinals, S10 Healthcare will face Meghalaya Secretariat Home Guards in what promises to be a high-octane encounter, while Meghalaya Legislative Assembly take on the much-fancied Shillong Police in the other last-four encounter.
Entry to the semis remains free and all are welcome to experience the action live. The semifinal fixtures will kick off at 4PM on Friday at the Thrive Sports Arena, Langkyrding.
