Shillong, Mar 19: Lumpaia Avengers successfully defended a small total to beat Mawphlang CC by 15 runs in their Group D match of the East Khasi Hills Cricket Association’s 5th District League T20 Cricket Tournament 2026 at Saitsohpen, Sohra, today.
After choosing to bat first on winning the toss the Avengers were all out for just 73. However, they were then able to inflict batting pain on Mawphlang and get them out for a mere 58.
Lumpaia Avengers batted only 14.5 overs and limped to their unimpressive total, which was made better by John Cliff Shabong’s 19 from 24 balls. Janai Dohtdong took 3/19 in 4 overs.
Mawphlang’s batting was even more disappointing but not so the bowling of Ralphy Diengdoh, who turned in an impressive spell of 3/5 in 4 overs. He was named Player of the Match. Mawphlang’s top score was 16 by Saindorlang Ripnar and they were all out in 16.3 overs.
