Shillong, Mar 25: Langsning XI CC and Rhinoland Cricket Academy won their respective matches in the 1st Late PA Sangma Memorial T20 Tournament, organised by the Shillong Cricket Association, here today.
While Langsning defeated Donkin CC by seven wickets in Group D, Rhinoland were 77-run victors over Shillong Sixers in Group B.
Donkin won the toss and batted first but they were dismissed for just 110 in 18.1 overs, as Chengkam Sangma (4/26 in 4 overs) and Aaron AR Nongrum (3/11 in 2.1) did major damage with the ball. Krishna Thapa did the best in a difficult situation for 35 runs from 29 deliveries.
Langsning batted well in the chase, reaching 114/3 in 15.1 overs. Nishanta Chakraborty led the charge with 52 from 37 balls, while Agreas Chamcham Sangma took 2/25 in 4 overs. Aaron was named Player of the Match.
In the other match, Rhinoland won the toss, batted first and put up a total of 184/5 in 20 overs. Priyanshu (no surname provided) hit 42 from 28 balls, while Dhruv Raaj Borah managed 42 in 44. For the bowling side, Sumeet Gurung took 2/24 in 3 overs.
Shillong Sixers needed a few more sixes than they could manage and were restricted to 107/7 in 20 overs. Sandeep Roy was the top scorer with 32 from 36 deliveries, while Chirantan Khat returned figures of 4/13 in 4 overs and was the Player of the Match.
