Shillong, Jun 22: Umiew Maw U Sam and Lamlynti won their respective Group A matches in the Shillong Sports Association’s Third Division 2026 here today.
Umiew Maw U Sam defeated Mawlynrei 3-1, while Lamlynti held off Nongumlong 2-1.
At the SSA Stadium Banlamkupar Rynjah (16′) gave Umiew Maw U Sam the lead before Shanbok Marboh (21′) levelled for Mawlynrei. However, the second half saw Umiew walk away with the game with a 65th minute own goal by a Mawlynrei player followed by a strike from Tiskhemlang Kharmylliem (74′). Matches in the Third Division are of 80 minutes’ duration.
Over at the MFA Ground, Biangki Khongjoh (18′, 21′) scored a brace to give Lamlynti the advantage. Tony Syngkli (51′) pulled one back for Nongumlong in the second half but Lamlynti held on to their reduced margin for victory.
