Shillong, Jul 13: Mawlynrei and Umiew Maw U Sam won their respective matches in the Shillong Sports Association’s Third Division 2026 here today.
While Mawlynrei won 3-0 against Iaitylli in Relegation Zone Group B, Umiew Maw U Sam pipped Pomlakrai 2-1 in the Super 8 Group B.
In the other Super 8 match, in Group A, Mawkasiang and Lamlynti were involved in a see-saw 3-3 draw at the SSA Stadium. Matches in the Third Division are of 80 minutes’ duration.
Lamlynti held a 2-0 lead thanks to a brace by Arban Sohshang (13′, 31′). Fivestar Nongkynrih (34′) and Enrique Sympli (48′) got Mawkasiang back into the game and Ericnelson Mylliempdah (75′) then handed the lead to Mawkasiang. However, Ialam Kshiar (79′) then equalised for Lamlynti and both teams took a point each from the six-goal contest.
Over at the MFA Ground, Mawlynrei sailed through against Iaitylli with goals by Andrew J Marboh (15′), Dawan Mawlong (22′) and Ksanborlang Mawlong (75′).
Later, at the SSA Stadium, Umiew Maw U Sam took a 2-0 lead in the space of a few minutes thanks to Kularskhem Mawthoh (2′) and Banlamkupar Rynjah (7′). Pynkhrehkloi Marbaniang (53′) pulled one back for Pomlakrai in the second half but 2-1 is how the game ended.
