Shillong, Jul 15: Sei La Sap FCC defeated Weilyngkut Area FCC 3-1 in the second semifinal of the Shillong Sports Association’s U-20 Fourth Division 2026 at the SSA Stadium here today.
By virtue of this, Sei La Sap will vie for the title with Mawpdang, who won the first semifinal yesterday.
This has been the debut season for both Weilyngkut and Sei La Sap and today it was the latter who came out on top, with goals by Leo F Marbaniang (23′, 62′) and Mebaniohnam Lyngdoh (72′). Sengrak Sangma (70′) produced Weilyngkut’s lone goal in the 80-minute match.
Leo scored both his goals by using his head, the first from a delightful cross and the second from a free-kick.
Sengrak pulled one back for Weilyngkut with a shot from the left flank at the near post and his team thought they should have had a penalty for a handball but the referee ruled that the infraction occurred just outside the box and Weilyngkut couldn’t convert the free-kick.
There was to be no comeback as Mebaniohnam sealed the contest in favour of Sei La Sap just seconds later when a long-range shot sailed into the back of the net, taking everyone (perhaps even himself) by surprise.
The final will take place on Saturday at 3:30PM.
