Shillong, Jul 30: Lawsohtun and Sohryngkham won their Group C matches of the Shillong Sports Association’s Second Division 2026 here today in contrasting styles.
At the SSA Stadium, Lawsohtun trounced Sohiong 7-0 while, later, at the MFA Ground, Sohryngkham came from a goal down to beat Tynring 2-1. These were the first matches of Group C.
In the early kick-off, Mewan Rasmut (42′, 45′, 82′, 88′, 90’+3) scored five goals for Lawsohtun after Pynshngain Marboh (6′, 38′) scored the first two. Mewan had moved to Lawsohtun ahead of the current season from Shillong Premier League side Mawlai.
Later, Tynring took an early lead through Marbiang Kharmalki (3′) but Sohryngkham fought back, with the equaliser by Winstar Kharpran (17′) and winning goal by Daioniki Kharpran (58′).
