Shillong, Aug 7: Nongmensong and Smit enjoyed big victories in Group B of the Shillong Sports Association’s Second Division 2026 here today.
Nongmensong steamrolled Umphrup 5-0 while Smit defeated Mawkriah West 4-1. The other match of the day saw Mawryngkneng beat Umlyngka 1-0.
Wanpynsuk Shadap (15′, 27′, 62′) scored a hat-trick for Nongmensong while his teammates Binstarson Lyngdoh (75′) and Starding Lyngdoh (81′) added a goal each later in the game at the MFA Ground.
At the SSA Stadium Smit took a 3-0 lead through Apburom Nongrum (5′, 36′) and Mangkyrpang S Nongdhar (29′) before Mawkriah West pulled a goal back via Calbessius Pathaw (73′). However, Smit added a fourth goal in stoppage time thanks to Andystar Kharsati (90’+6).
Finally, the only goal of the late fixture was scored by Iohbor Mukhim (72′) for Mawryngkneng at the SSA Stadium.
