Shillong, Aug 12: Pay For Right Academy and Marbisu grabbed their first victories in Group A of the Shillong Sports Association’s Second Division 2026 here today.
PFR defeated Lumshyiap 6-2 and Marbisu won 1-0 over Nongrah. The other match saw Mawpat blank Madan SCC 2-0 at the SSA Stadium.
Mawpat and Madan had won both of their previous two matches each before this match but today Madan had to taste defeat for the first time. After a goalless first half Donboklang Lyngdoh (67′) and Oliver Pale (73′) scored in the second to take victory and give Mawpat a full 9 points.
Over at the MFA Ground, there were seven goals in the second half between PFR and Lumshyiap. Pynshngain Majai (23′) produced the only goal of the first half but his PFR teammates added five more in the second 45 minutes; the scorers were Peter Lamare (49′, 68′), Frankystar Shabong (58′) and Refielostar Nongkynrih (79′, 90’+4). Lumshyiap’s goals were by Brandon Lyngdoh (57′) and Damanki Syngkli (89′).
Later, at the SSA Stadium, Marbisu edged Nongrah with a 39th minute goal by Nicholas Swer.
There will be no Second Division matches until 18th August. In Group B Smit will face Umphrup at 1PM at the SSA Stadium before Nongmensong go up against Mawryngkneng at 4PM at the MFA Ground.
