Shillong, Aug 18: Smit defeated Umphrup 3-0 in Group B of the Shillong Sports Association’s Second Division 2026 here today.
The battle between the two neighbouring teams was completely one-sided as Smit scored through Damewanshan Nengnong (40′), Nathaniel Kharbangar (59′) and Batskhemlang Thangkhiew (89′) at the SSA Stadium.
The other match of the day, also in Group B, was a 0-0 draw between Nongmensong and Mawryngkneng at the MFA Ground. This was the first draw of any kind in this group.
