Shillong, Aug 20: Wandari Rani produced a hat-trick as Meghalaya defeated the International Schools Sports Organisation (ISSO) 8-0 yesterday in their second match of the U-17 Girls’ Subroto Cup International Football Tournament 2026 in New Delhi.
Meghalaya are being represented at the tournament by Little Star Higher Secondary School of Eastern West Khasi Hills, who emerged as the state champions in July.
Wandari scored in the 32nd, 38th and 40th minutes of the hour-long Group D match. She had also found the back of the net in the Tuesday’s win over Chandigarh.
Genefa Myrthong had also scored against Chandigarh and returned with a brace against ISSO, scoring in the 34th and 55th minutes.
The other Meghalayans to bag goals were Bansara Rynshiang (22′, 52′) and Jesica Myrthong (28′).
Meghalaya get a rest day today but will be back in action tomorrow versus Madhya Pradesh at 4:30PM at the Subroto Park Football Ground.
