Shillong, Aug 21: Today was the 15th day of the East Jaintia Hills District Football Association’s Third Division 2026 in Khliehriat and the last of the preliminary round matches.
In the first match, Nongthymme SC came from a goal down in Pool M to beat Moopyniein SSWO 2-1. All three goals were scored right at the end of the 80-minute match. Pynchemiki Pohlong (74′) struck first for Moopyniein but the lead lasted barely a minute as Kynpham Sympli (75′) equalised and Boldness Muksor (80’+1) then scored the winner in stoppage time.
Later, in Pool N, Umrasiang United SC also won 2-1 but their match against Pynurkba Christian SC was more straightforward. Suk Dkhar (9′) scored for Umrasong, Wansao Biam (53′) then levelled for Pynurkba before Mesar Syrti struck the winning goal in the 64th minute for Umrasong.
Lastly, in Pool O, Rymbai SYWO and Marshaphrang YSC Dona Skur played out a 1-1 draw. Phraki Shylla (24′) and Firster Sympli (55′) scored for Donaskur and Rymbai respectively.
The top team from each pool and the best second-placed team overall will qualify for the Round of 16. These are Cham Cham SCSC (Pool A), Umkiang Maya Club (Pool B), Youngster SSC Huroi (Pool C), Borghat SCSC (Pool D), Dongumsngad SC Byndihati (Pool E), Umstain SSCC (Pool F), Youth SC Pyrtakuna (Pool G), Tongseng Youth SYSC (Pool H), Moonongtdu SC (Pool I), Rymbai Pohskur SC (Pool J), Wahsarang SC (Pool K), Musniang Rim SC (Pool L), Nongthymme SC (Pool M), Umrasiang United SC (Pool N), Marshaphrang YSC Donaskur (Pool O) and Lumputhoi SCSC from Pool B were the best second-placed team.
Tomorrow the Second Division will recommence. The most recent matches were held on 14th August.
