Shillong, Sep 4: The third quarterfinals of the East Jaintia Hills District Football Association’s Second and Third Division 2026 were held today, with victories for SWO Moosianglamare Old SC and Moonongtdu SC respectively in Khliehriat today.
The Third Division match was held first, with Moonongtdu and Nongthymme SC engaged in a 1-1 draw at the end of 80 minutes of regulation time. The two goals came right at the end, first for Nongthymme’s Berial Lapasam (78′) and then the equaliser by Moonongtdu’s Etilast Lyngdoh (80’+2). In the penalty shootout Moonongtdu held on for a 3-2 win.
Later, Moosianglamare Old got the job done inside 80 minutes after Regency Lapasam (18′) and Pyniar Pusein (53′) scored on either side of half time for a 2-0 result over Narwan SCSC.
Reaching the semifinals means that both winners from today will be promoted next season – Moosianglamare Old to the First Division and Moonongtdu to the Second Division.
