Shillong, Mar 5: Mylliem and Laitkor will do battle today for the Shillong Sports Association’s Second Division title. The final will kick off at 2:45PM at Third Ground, Polo.
Mylliem have reached this point from Group A. They lost their opener badly – 3-0 to Lumshyiap – but were undefeated after that and topped the group. Mylliem then fought hard to beat Sohiong from behind in the first semifinal on Monday.
If Mylliem’s last-four encounter was a struggle, Laitkor’s was epic. They went behind in the first half but found the equaliser in the last minute or so of second half stoppage time and then held their nerve to beat Marbisu on penalties. Laitkor dominated Group B, winning three and drawing two of their fixtures.
Mawphlang MLA and SSA President Eugeneson Lyngdoh will be the chief guest on the occasion of the final.
