Shillong, Apr 6: Ehrngiew FC defeated YBSC Shella 3-0 in the final of the 6th Knockout Football Tournament, organised by Wahiajer SC, today.
Robert Khongjoh scored a hat-trick (23′, 60′, 66′) and was duly named man-of-the-match.
As champions, Ehrngiew received Rs 2 lakh in prize money, while YBSC Shella took home Rs 1 lakh.
Among the other individual award winners, Henry Marboh was the player-of-the-tournament, while Eric Nonkhlaw was named Best Goalkeeper. Both are also from Ehrngiew. Samson Nongrum of semifinalists Azariah FC was the top scorer.
Cabinet minister and Nartiang MLA Sniawbhalang Dhar was the chief guest and Jowai MLA Wailadmiki Shylla the guest of honour.
