Shillong, Dec 1: The 60-plus veteran Meghalaya team won three gold, two silver and one bronze medals at the North East Masters Table Tennis Tournament 2024 in Kohima, which concluded yesterday.

The three-day event began on Thursday and Meghalaya’s 60-plus team had its most successful outing, having never won so many medals, especially gold.

Meghalaya won the team event, where the team beat Mizoram 3-1 in the final.

The men’s doubles final was an all-Meghalaya affair, with the pair of Santanu Ghosh and RB Das winning against AG West and Harendra Singha. In the men’s singles final, Ghosh defeated Singha, again in an all-Meghalaya final.

The bronze medal came in mixed doubles, where Ghosh had partnered with Shyamali Banik of Tripura.
