Shillong, Sep 5: Mawryngkneng and Sohiong won their respective Group C matches in the Shillong Sports Association’s Second Division 2025 at the SSA Stadium at First Ground, Polo, here today.
Mawryngkneng defeated Sohryngkham 2-1, while Sohiong held off PFR Academy for a 3-2 win.
Mebalabiang Myrboh (6′) and Sanlangki Myrboh (52′) scored for Mawryngkneng on either side of Daiomeki Kharpran’s 41st minute goal for Sohryngkham.
Later, Sohiong took the lead in the 40th minute via Keystar Malngiang and never relinquished it. Sharningstar Jana doubled the advantage with a 67th minute goal but PFR clawed one back through Thymmaibor Mukhim (75′).
Two more goals were scored within minutes, with Keystar (77′) getting his second before PFR’s Donald Tariang (80′) registered the last one of the day.
Mawryngkneng are at the top of the Group C points table with 7 points now. Sohiong are second thanks to head-to-head against PFR. Otherwise, PFR have the better goal difference.
